Geelong Cats are excited to announce a trio of re-signings, with defenders Zach Guthrie and Oisin Mullin, and young midfielder Jhye Clark all signing contract extensions.
Guthrie and Mullin have both committed until at least the end of 2025, signing one-year contract extensions, while Geelong’s 2022 first-round selection Clark has signed for a further year, a deal that will keep him at GMHBA Stadium until at least the end of 2026.
A local Geelong product out of Queenscliff/Geelong Falcons, Clark was selected with the eighth selection in the 2022 AFL National Draft.
Making his debut in Round 9 last year against Richmond, Clark has impressed across the pre-season and played an important part in last night’s win against St Kilda.
Guthrie, now in his eighth year has become a key piece in Geelong’s defence, playing every game for the Cats since Round 8, 2022, including a key role in the Cats’ Premiership winning team in 2022.
The 25-year-old was rewarded with a career-high fourth-place finish in the 2023 Carji Greeves Medal count, following a strong season that saw him average a career-high 16.1 disposals, 5.6 marks and 2.2 spoils per game.

Mullin impressed at AFL level in 2023, with the highly rated Gaelic footballer earning six senior games in his debut season.
First joining Club in October 2022, Mullin impressed with his blistering speed, power, and ability to run and carry out of defence.
Geelong Cats General Manager – Football Andrew Mackie said the Club was thrilled to see the three players extend their tenure at the Club.
“Zach has developed into a very reliable defender for us. We love the way Zach goes about it and he is an exceptional teammate.
“Jhye has shown exciting progression with his development in the pre-season after getting a taste of AFL football last year. He is a very talented player, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds.
“We acknowledge how courageous and brave the decision Oisin made to move to Australia, he has positively embedded himself into our football program and we are extremely happy with his development.”
