This weekend marks a major milestone for Geelong captain Joel Selwood when he becomes the first Cat in the club’s 163 year history to play 350 games. 

It’s been an extraordinary career so far, and Cats Media has done a deep dive on the best Selwood related stats we can find. 

Here’s our top 14:

1.   He lost two of the first four games of his career before going on to the next 25. 

2.   His 72.5% winning percentage (253-1-95) is the best winning percentage among current players with a minimum of 50 games. 

3.   He is 4th all-time in most wins played in (253) behind Michael Tuck, Shaun Burgoyne and Kevin Bartlett and first among active players.

4.   He is 2nd for most finals played in (37), two behind Michael Tuck, and the most among active players. 

5.   Selwood and Tom Hawkins will play their 300th game as teammates this weekend, currently second all-time behind Adam Goodes & Jude Bolton (301) and Andrew McLeod & Tyson Edwards (307).

6.   He has led the club for tackles in a season six times (2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2018)

7.   He has led the club for clearances in a season eight times (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021)

8.    He has led the club for contested possessions in a season 11 times (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021) 

9.   Of the 1103 players to play for Geelong, he is the first to play 350 games (21st all time)

10.  Prior to this season he has amassed 210 Brownlow votes over 336 games, equal 7th all-time with Chris Judd.

11.  He is the longest serving captain in history (238), and is currently tied with Dick Reynolds for most wins (159)

12.  He has laid the most tackles in V/AFL history (1775)

13.  He is a 3-time Premiership Player (2007, 2009, 2011) and six-time All Australian (2009, 2010, 2013c, 2014c, 2016c, 2017)
