GEELONG midfielder Sam Menegola will have a delayed start to his preseason program after undergoing a meniscal repair to his knee at the end of October.

Menegola consulted specialists in Perth and surgery was considered the best course of action.

“Sam and the medical team were pleased with the outcome post-surgery,” Geelong’s general manager of football Simon Lloyd said.

“Sam is totally professional in all aspects of his football, and he will tackle the rehabilitation process with gusto. Sam has started his rehab in Perth and will return to Geelong in the new year.”

Menegola has played 109 games and kicked 76 goals with the Cats. Since debuting late in the 2016 campaign, Menegola has been a constant contributor, and has played 16 finals in his six seasons.
