Cats midfielder Renee Garing has shared the exciting news that she is pregnant.

The 33-year-old inaugural Cats AFLW player told teammates on Monday night that she and husband Tony Garing are expecting a baby in May 2022.

Garing shared the news on social media shortly after, proudly holding an infant Cats guernsey for the future Kitten Krew member.

"We can't wait to meet our new addition to the family in May. Cats jumper ready to go for our little man," she wrote.

Garing debuted for the Cats in their first ever game in Round 1, 2019, and has played a further 22 games since.

Known for her leadership, level head and team-first mentality, Garing has been an integral member of the Cats Women's program.

She will be placed on the club's inactive list for the 2022 season.
