DEFENSIVE dynamo Scott Selwood says he’s looking forward to the challenge of taking on one of last year’s grand finalists away from home.

Geelong will be seeking to get one back on the Crows after falling to Adelaide at the same venue in the 2017 preliminary final.

“You get excited about the challenge of Adelaide because they’re a quality side,” he said.

“Although they haven’t had the best of years we still expect them to play their best. They’re getting guys back now at the moment and they’re really strongly coached.”

Selwood says the Cats are expecting the Crows to be firing on all cylinders despite their up and down season to date.

“They’re not really hard to prepare for as you’re still preparing for their best. They are getting guys back at the moment and we still expect them to be at their best,” he said.

“We expect them to play a really good brand of footy and bring the heat.”

The Cats have faced form issues of their own and will be looking to string together some solid performances after last week’s impressive showing in Sydney.

“We haven’t been as consistent as what we probably were last year, and we acknowledge that. We’ve probably lost games that we would have hoped to have won obviously,” Selwood said.

“We put in a strong performance last week, albeit the scoreboard probably didn’t quite reflect that in the way we kicked goals, but we thought we took a step in the right direction.”
