CATS dynamo Steven Motlop is revelling in one of his most consistent pre-season training blocks since he arrived at the club in late 2008.

Motlop, who finished second in Geelong’s 2015 best and fairest, admits he was not exactly in tip-top shape when he returned to the club after the off-season break.

But he has worked very hard on the track to put himself in a position to have a big 2016 campaign.

“I wasn’t too fit at the start [of pre-season], but I’m definitely getting there now,” the 24-year-old CatsTV.

“I’m feeling a lot fitter than when we first came back.

“I’m getting through training really well.

“This is the first time I’ve done the first six weeks of training, fully, in a long time, so it’s exciting for me.

“We’ve still got a long way to go, and my body’s holding up, so it’s good.”

The Cats will kick off their NAB Challenge campaign against Collingwood at Simonds Stadium on Friday, February 26.
