The Geelong Cats are pleased to announce Troy Selwood has been appointed the club’s new Talent Identification Manager.

In the newly created role, Selwood will work under Recruiting & List Manager Stephen Wells and manage the club’s recruiting staff whilst identifying future talent. Selwood will also be part of the club’s List Management Team.

“Troy has been at the club since 2011 in a variety of roles. He is well respected by staff, players and club management and we see him as the ideal person for this new role,” Geelong’s General Manager of Football Steve Hocking said.

“Troy’s experience in various positions, most recently VFL operations, has given him the capability to now move onto a different role within the club. We are really pleased and see him as a fantastic addition to our recruiting team.”

Recruiting & List Manager Stephen Wells is also pleased to welcome Selwood to his team.

“Troy has an eye for talent, having recruited a number of local players to our VFL side, some of whom have been subsequently drafted by the club,” Wells said.

“We see Troy as a welcome addition to our recruiting team, someone who will bring a different perspective and we are excited to have him join us.”

Selwood will transition out of his current role and begin his new role in early February.
