The Cats have traded Shane Kersten to Fremantle in exchange for pick 63 in the 2016 national draft.
Drafted in 2011, the 23-year-old forward made his debut in 2014 and played 37 games for Geelong - including 17 this year.
The West Australian requested a trade back to his home state during the trade period and both clubs faciliated an appropriate deal for all parties.
