As consistent and reliable as they come, Humphries cemented his position in defence with another brilliant season in his second year at Geelong.
Entrusted as the prime distributor across half-back, Humphries led the Cats for rebound 50s in 2025 and averaged 16 disposals per game, while still maintaining an impressive 77.7% disposal efficiency.
His terrific skills by foot produced some incredible moments throughout the season, including a great goal against Port Adelaide and an emphatic celebration while wearing Geelong's First Nations Guernsey, designed by his sister Meeza and extended family.
Humphries was also amongst Geelong's best in their Grand Final defeat, amassing 23 disposals and five score involvements while also finishing with over 600 metres gained to generate plenty of ball movement.
Selected in the Western Australia team for AFL Origin and heading into his third season at the top level, it is shaping up to be an exciting 2026 campaign for Lawson Humphries.
