After a delayed start to his first season with Geelong, Martin made an impressive return and showed just how damaging he can be in the back half of the year.
The experienced Cat played just two games at VFL level before earning his club AFL debut in Round 13, playing across half-back initially and finding the football with ease including a 25-disposal outing against Richmond.
Martin eventually made the transition into Geelong's forward 50 to great effect, hitting the scoreboard in seven of his last 10 games for the season, finishing with 12 goals and nine goal assists.
The standout highlight came in Round 21 against Port Adelaide, where the silky Cat piled on four goals in under five minutes, the quickest four-goal haul in AFL history.
With a positive finish to the year and importantly a clean bill of health, Martin will be one to watch heading into his second season with Geelong.
