Stewart faced an interrupted start to 2025, featuring in five of Geelong's opening 10 games, but the star defender found consistency midway through the year and returned to his best. 

Averaging close to 20 disposals per game, Stewart went at an incredible 87.3% disposal efficiency across the season, the second best efficiency of any player in the AFL who played nine games or more last year. 

Despite missing a handful of games, the five-time All-Australian still finished in Geelong's top four players for total intercept marks and rebound 50s, while leading the Cats for average intercept possessions per game. 

Stewart played a starring role in Geelong's Qualifying Final victory over Brisbane, collecting 22 disposals and even pushing forward to kick a goal, his first major since Round 19 of the 2024 season.

With 191 career games to his name, Stewart will have the opportunity to bring up his 200th AFL game early in the 2026 season as he prepares for his 10th season with Geelong.
