Thursday night the Cats will kick off their opening battle at home, when they come face-to-face with Adelaide Crows for Round 1 at Simonds Stadium.

Geelong’s first clash will not only be the team’s first meeting with ex-teammate James Podsiadly, it will also be the night that Jimmy Bartel reaches his 250th AFL game.

Since his debut, Bartel has accumulated an impressive list of milestones during his 12 years on the field, including three premierships, a Brownlow Medal, a Norm Smith Medal and a two-time All-Australian player.

To celebrate his 250th the Cats Shop has arranged a personalized memorabilia piece signed by Jimmy Bartel to commemorate his career as a Cat. The Cats Shop is now taking orders in store or click here on Bartel's memorabilia piece below to order on line.

Before the game begins at 7:10pm our membership team will be located at the Cats Membership Marquee in the Legends Plaza. From 5pm to quarter time Membership will be available to answer any questions and assist with membership collections or purchases.

There will also be some pre-game fun for the kids with young George Burbury making a special appearance to host a handball competition from 6:25 – 6:45pm in the marquee.

Make sure you arrive early if you are collecting membership items to avoid the crowds.
