The Geelong Cats’ 12 new recruits have been presented with their guernsey numbers for 2019.

The Cats’ first pick in the AFL Draft, Jordan Clark, will don the lowest number of the group, with the creative defender to run out in number six.

Star recruits Gary Rohan and Luke Dahlhaus will wear guernseys 23 and 40 respectively.

High-flying forward Ben Jarvis is excited to be given the number 10, worn previously by Daniel Menzel.

“I grew up with my junior footy playing in number 10 so to put it on at an AFL club is unreal and I cannot wait,” said Jarvis.

Fellow South Australian’s Jacob Kennerley (21) and Jake Tarca (33) are equally looking forward to running out in their new numbers next year.

“It is unbelievable, there has been some pretty good players wear it in the past like Cam Mooney and Jordan Murdoch,” Kennerley said.

Tarca said it means a lot to ‘be pulling on the hoops’.

“It was a childhood dream to play AFL football and it is a great club to be a part of, so it means a lot,” Tarca said.

“Max Rooke is obviously a club legend and he is a fierce tackler and I love to base my game around that being a small forward, they are big shoes to fill but I am looking forward to it.”

Nathan Kreuger (15), Oscar Brownless (20) Darcy Fort (28), Tom Atkins (30), Blake Schlensog (36) and Stefan Okunbor (43) round out the other player numbers for 2019.
