The Geelong Cats today announced its allocation of playing numbers for the 2017 season.

Zach Tuohy will wear number 2, while Aaron Black will take over number 23.

The Cats first pick in the AFL draft, Brandan Parfitt will don number 3, previously worn by Brownlow Medallist Jimmy Bartel.
 
Local draftee and former Geelong VFL defender Tom Stewart will take over the famous number 44, worn by club games record holder Corey Enright for the past 17 seasons.
 
Esava Ratugolea will take number 17, Quinton Narkle will wear 19, Timm House has been given number 30 and Ryan Abbott number 45.
 
Rookies’ numbers include Jack Henry - 38, Zach Guthrie – 39 and Jamaine Jones – 41.
 
Category B rookie Mark O’Connor will wear number 42, the same number fellow Irishman Padraig Lucey called his for two seasons.
 
Father/son selection Sam Simpson is currently overseas and will have his number allocated on his return in the coming weeks.
