Despite the loss, Motlop showed flashes of brilliance against the Pies.

Steven Motlop has received a round 22 nomination for Coates Hire Goal of the Year for an impressive effort against Collingwood on Friday night.

The clever Cat was on the lead in the forward 50 but failed to take the mark forcing him to chase the lose ball and do what he does best.

Despite being outnumbered by Pies, Motlop managed to dance around the boundary line and keep the ball in before evading his opponents, taking a bounce and slotting the goal.

Motlop finished the match with 15 disposals, 3 tackles and a goal.
