TRIPLE premiership player James Kelly will notch his 300th official AFL game when he runs out against Essendon at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.

Kelly's current tally of 299 games is made up of his premiership season (263) and pre-season (33) matches for Geelong, his two International Rules games for Australia and his one state of origin appearance for Victoria.

In reaching game 300, the 31-year-old qualifies for AFL Life Membership.
