The VFLW Cats will be bolstered by the debut of former basketballer Cortney Williamson as they take on the Casey Demons this week.

Williamson is in her first season of football after after a successful career in basketball playing with the Bendigo Spirit in the WNBL and the Geelong Lady Supercats.

Geelong got back to its early-season form last week with a convincing 38-point win over the Southern Saints, taking the Cats to a record of six wins, two losses and a draw and fourth spot on the table.

Casey is currently placed eighth having split its first eight games.

Georgia Clarke will also return to the team for the Cats, having played one game already this season.

Clarke returns from Queensland where she has been representing Vic Country at the National Championships over the past two weeks. The defender is also a member of the AFLW National Academy and first represented Geelong in Round 4.

Saturday's match is the first of the triple-header between the Cats and Demons, with the VFL and AFL sides facing off at GMHBA Stadium later in the afternoon.
