The Geelong Cats family and the wider football community is banding behind former Cats VFL player Casey Tutungi.

Tutungi was diagnosed as a quadriplegic after suffering a neck injury during the Geelong Football League match between South Barwon and St Josephs. Tutungi had played 41 games for the Cats VFL side and was seen as a leader amongst the team.

Following the diagnosis the club has been working with the Tutungi family and various footballing leagues to develop fundraising strategies.

The club is pleased to announce the following initiatives:
? The gate receipts from the VFL Cats final home game on Friday night against Collingwood to be donated to the Tutungi Future Fund.

All teams across the Geelong Football League, Bellarine Football League, Geelong and District Football League and Colac District Football League will fundraise through club functions, player/member donations, events and gate takings to contribute directly to the Tutungi Future Fund. The Geelong Football Club will use its Saturday night clash with St Kilda to fundraise both at the gate and within the ground.

? The ten clubs across the state that raise the most money on the weekend of July 27 for the Casey Tutungi Future Fund will go into the draw to win the ultimate local club football experience. The winning club will become an “AFL club for the day” in the 2014 preseason including:
