It may have been a thrilling win, but Collingwood’s Round 2 victory against the Swans has come at a cost. Ben Sinclair and Nathan Brown have both been sidelined following injuries late in the game, whilst a shadow of doubt hovers over star skipper Scott Pendlebury.

Pendlebury didn’t train with the team today however Pies football director Rodney Eade is confident the four-time All-Australian will be ready to go when they take on the Cats in a blockbuster at the ‘G on Saturday night.

“He got a knock to his lower leg on Saturday night which pushed his ankle over a little bit,” Eade told CTV.

“The ankle seems okay but we just wanted to get a scan of it, its more precautionary.

“Scott’s okay, he’s fine, so we’re more than confident he’ll play on Saturday.”

Eade is also optimistic about the severity of Brown’s injury, despite him being sidelined for at least a month.

“There’s no extra damage to the bone… that’s a pretty good result for us,” Eade told CTV.

“It’ll probably be 4-5 weeks. We’ve got to get the swelling down inside his shoulder joint and obviously do a strengthening program.

“The prognosis is probably the best we could hope for,” Eade said.

Last time the Cats met the Pies, Brown had 14 disposals and took 6 marks.

Sinclair, who had 17 disposals against Sydney last week before going down with the injury, is set for a shorter stint off the park.

“Unfortunately he’s got a minor strain in his hamstring, in the lower part of his leg,” Eade said.

“He just felt that tighten up towards the end of the game on Saturday night… so (the) maximum (he’ll miss) will be three but we’re quite confident it’ll (only) be two weeks.”

The last time the two played, Round 8 last year, Collingwood seized a six-point win in an upset at the MCG. The Cats haven’t beaten the Pies since the 2011 Grand Final.
