After an impressive season building her game in the VFLW, Ingrid Houtsma is ready to put her best foot forward and push for a hard-earned AFLW debut this year. The Geelong Falcons graduate spent a season on Richmond’s list before crossing to Geelong ahead of Season 7. With a fit and firing squad, it was difficult for Houtsma to push into the senior side, but she has shown her skill and versatility this VFLW season. The 19-year-old played through the wing, on-ball and across defence for the Cats’ state league side, with her skill and class coming to the fore. An athletic 176cm prospect, Houtsma’s growing versatility might be key to make her impact at the top level.

Geelong Football Club acknowledges Wadawurrung as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the Land on which our club, our families and our communities work and play. We pay our respects to Elders of the past, the present, and those that will lead their collective future. Kardinyu, in Wadawurrung language is the place of the morning sun, a place of deep cultural connection and significance, a meeting place since the beginning of time. We are honoured to walk with the Wadawurrung People, to listen, respect and talk together on our journey on Wadawurrung Country.
