Max Holmes has continued his rapid rise up the AFL Coaches' votes leaderboard after another sensational performance in Round 21, with the Cats securing a clean sweep of the votes in their dominant 88-point win over Port Adelaide.
Following his 35-disposal and two goal display against the Power, Holmes has been awarded a perfect 10 votes from the coaches which takes his overall tally to 77 for the season, moving into sixth place on the overall leaderboard.
The star on-baller amassed an astonishing 15 score involvements on Sunday, pushing back to pick off eight intercept possessions and breaking the game open with his run and carry, finishing with a game high 875 metres gained.
A trio of Cats received four votes in Round 21 including Gryan Miers, Bailey Smith and Shannon Neale with all three players having a significant impact against the Power.
Miers amassed 30 disposals for just the second time in his career, spending plenty of time in the midfield and winning three centre clearances while still pushing forward and finishing with 10 score involvements.
Continuing to grow as the season wears on, Neale pieced together another terrific display kicking three goals from his 15 disposals, also laying three tackles inside 50 and plucking two contested marks in a well rounded performance.
Smith accumulated 30 disposals for the 10th time this year on Sunday, his four coaches votes taking his season tally to 78 and keeping him in a tie for third place on the overall leaderboard, just one vote ahead of Holmes.
Still in the hunt for 100 goals this season, Jeremy Cameron has received three votes for his six goal haul against the Power, taking his season tally to 54 votes which is a brilliant return for a key position player.
Oisin Mullin also received three coaches votes for his incredible job on Sunday, restricting star on-baller Zak Butters to just 10 disposals, his lowest total in a non-substitute affected game since 2020. The Irishman was also able to have an influence the other way, winning four clearances and four score involvements in a brilliant performance.
Mark Blicavs rounded out the votes for Round 21, receiving two votes from the coaches to take his season tally to 11 after another strong display against Port Adelaide.
Spending plenty of time in the ruck, Blicavs collected 19 disposals, three clearances and seven score involvements to continue his strong season.
The AFL Coaches Association’s AFL Champion Player Award is an award voted by the 18 coaching panels on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort by an individual player in a season.
