Scott on his takeaways from Saturday

I mean we are not over confident, but it feels like we are in pretty good form. Obviously Bailey coming back helped.

We are really respectful of how difficult the competition has been, it feels like we have had some really hard games so it was a bit of a relief to have one where the result was a bit clearer earlier on.

Obviously it is hard not to, as you go through the preparation to be aware of how many challenges the opposition had with their personnel.

But we are definitely in a phase where we are thinking a lot about how we can improve our game, I thought we did that today.

Scott on Shannon Neale

Jeremy I think speaks for himself, and quite rightly he has got a lot of attention and accolades over the years.

Shannon Neale is the one that has really impressed us, and it has been for a while too.

He is a brilliant athlete, he is 203cm, middle-distance running background and is really developing into not just a good key forward who can run, but a smart footballer as well.

I say that we have been pleased with him for a long period of time, because he has played in a way that has made it a lot easier for Cameron, Stengle and Dangerfield to make it more difficult for their opponents.

Scott on Geelong's forward pressure

We try to play that way anyway. They are a high possession team, even without some of their best players in the team they can chop you up.

We thought that defending our forward half was an important part of the game, it is nice to see.

I don't know the exact numbers and I don't follow that bit closely, but our forwards that pressured well during the game tended to get rewarded offensively which was nice.

Scott on Ollie Dempsey's development

He is a Rising Star, so I think he has taken a couple of steps in the right direction.

But it is a good observation, he does have some evolution in his game.

It makes a little bit more sense to us that he has got some improvement left in him, because he came to us as a very raw basketballer who had played only a little bit of footy.

Your hope is that even those guys that show some things early, will continue to develop. We think he is still a fair way away from his ceiling.

Scott on the Cats numerous avenues to goal

It is hard to orchestrate, I think every coach in the modern game would say that the opposition scout you so well that if you are predictable, it makes you more vulnerable to being shutdown.

We have been working for a long time to try and be a team, even through the midfield, because the best teams in history have always been one where if you shut him down, someone else gets you.

It is true in the forward half as well, I think we are fortunate that there has been a lot of hard work that has gone into it as well.

It is a credit to Pat [Dangerfield] that we have got a 35 year old who has become such a threat in the forward half as well, but I don't think we feel like he has to dominate for us to kick a score.
