The coaches couldn’t split a trio of Geelong’s young guns on Saturday night with Max Holmes, Brandan Parfitt, and Sam De Koning all earning six votes each for their performance during the Cats’ 45 point win over St. Kilda.
With Patrick Dangerfield withdrawn pre-match, Parfitt went to work in the middle in his first full game back from a broken hand, collecting 25 disposals, 10 clearances, and laying ten tackles, while the 19 year old Max Holmes (24 disposals, 531 metres gained) continues to impress despite just 26 games to his name.
Sam De Koning, in another game that is sure to capture the attention of the NAB Rising Star votes, held St. Kilda spearhead to one goal and two marks for the night after keeping Bulldog Aaron Naughton goalless last week.
Cam Guthrie (22 disposals, seven tackles), Isaac Smith (three goals), Zach Guthrie (22 disposals, 8 marks), and Sam Menegola (25 disposals, 10 score involvements) were also among the votes.
