The Geelong Cats aim to engage and empower our community to thrive in building healthy, active and inclusive lives.
Making a difference in our community is at the heart of what we do in our aim to be ‘more than just a club’. Here at the Cats, we have flagship programs that together make up Cats Community. All our programs are free and have one central purpose – to help build a better, healthier and inclusive community.
AFLW Community Sausage Sizzles Helps Armstrong Creek Sharks
At the heart of the Geelong Cats Community lies a powerful belief: that greatness can be nurtured anywhere — on the field, in the stands, and far beyond. Over the past two AFLW seasons, we've brought this spirit to life through a grassroots initiative empowering junior female football clubs across the Barwon region, enabling them to raise vital funds while celebrating the game we all love.
Aligned with AFLW home games at GMHBA Stadium, five local clubs are selected each season to host a sausage sizzle. Everything is provided — all the gear, the ingredients, the support — and every dollar raised goes straight back into their own female football programs.

Support the Dulux Community Bay and Geelong Football Club
The Geelong Cats and Dulux share a deep commitment to community, from building connections and supporting one another to celebrating local heroes. Through the Dulux Community Bay at GMHBA Stadium, that shared ethos comes to life.
In 2024, with the support of Dulux and the Geelong Cats Community Foundation, this special initiative reached more than 1,200 community members. Across 18 local organisations, 1,250 tickets were gifted by the Club, offering individuals and families from Geelong and surrounding regions the chance to be part of the electrifying match day atmosphere.
But the true impact goes far beyond numbers.
“Sitting in the autumn sunshine amongst the vibrant crowd made me realise how important it was for me to continue with life even though I am grieving…such a great experience which I am most thankful for.” - Dulux Community Bay participant from Anam Cara House who had very recently lost his wife whilst she was in palliative care.
Moments like these remind us that community isn’t just a word, it’s a lifeline.
At every Cats home game, the quarter-time break becomes a spotlight moment, honouring the organisations seated in the bay and the powerful work they do every day.
Within this, we highlight a local hero from the organisation by awarding them The Dulux Community Hero for that round. This award recognises and celebrates the individuals who have gone above and beyond to make a positive and lasting impact on the lives of others. Whether through compassion, service, or sheer determination, their actions remind us of what true community looks like.
