Profile: An athletic former netball star who has experience at AFLW level. Caris has played predominantly in the ruck throughout her career but has the ability to win the ball all over the ground. Was a member of the 2018 TAC Cup Team of the Year.


2. Danielle Orr

Profile: One of the Cats’ top VFLW forwards over the past two seasons, Danielle Orr has often found herself amongst the goalkickers in her 31 games for the club. Orr was also a key member of the Cats’ AFLW side, playing eight games. Was named a member of the 2019 VFLW Leadership Group.

Profile: Entering her second season at VFLW level as one of the fastest developing players on the list. Finished top 10 in the Cats’ best and fairest count in 2018 after 17 impressive games and is a member of the 2019 VFLW Leadership Group.


4. Cassie Blakeway

Profile: After finishing as runner-up in the Cats’ 2017 VFLW Best & Fairest, Cassie Blakeway had another strong season in the hoops in 2018. With 28 games at VFLW level and seven games with the AFLW side, Blakeway will enter the 2019 campaign as one of the Cats’ more experienced stars.


5. Jordan Ivey

Profile:
An experienced AFLW player, Jordan Ivey has been plagued by injuries over the past couple of years. Can be one of the Cats’ most dangerous forwards when fit. Was named as a member of the 2019 VFLW Leadership Group.

Profile: Julia Crockett-Grills made the switch to the hoops ahead of the 2019 AFLW season. The versatile midfielder finished top 10 in the AFLW Cats B&F.

Profile: A member of the Geelong Falcons in 2017, Benham debuted for the VFLW Cats midway through the 2018 season. A premiership player with North Geelong who knows how to find the goals.

Profile: With a surname synonymous with the Geelong Football Club, Rankin became a popular player amongst the Cats’ AFLW fans. Her intensity around the contest and attack on the ball will translate well to VFLW football.

Profile: One of the most experienced VFLW players on Geelong’s list, Woollett playing in her fourth season of state-level football. She is a speedy player who plays with a lot of heart.


12. Renee Garing

Profile: A star and a leader on and off the field, Renee Garing has quickly become one of the Cats Women’s most popular players. The midfielder averaged over 20 disposals and nine tackles at VFLW level in 2018 and played eight games at AFLW level this year.

Profile: Taylor is entering her third season in the program and has been a consistent player across 39 VFLW games. She is a versatile player capable of playing a variety of positions.


14. Natalie French

Profile: One of the top local footballers in 2018, French joins the Cats after a strong season with Grovedale. French kicked 23 goals from 13 games in the AFL Barwon Women’s League.


15. Gabby Deller

Profile: Joining the Cats from fellow VFLW club Richmond, Deller played six games for the Tigers in 2018. The Drysdale and Geelong Falcons product is quick and uses the ball well.


16. Olivia Purcell

Profile: The 2018 Geelong Falcons best and fairest winner was a key member of the VFLW Cats’ finals push last year. Purcell slotted into the side seamlessly and is also a key member of the AFLW squad. The inside midfielder will be one to watch in 2019.

Profile: A tall defender who was named in the U/18 All-Australian squad and TAC Cup Team of the Year in 2018. Clarke is a strong marking player who impressed in four games with the VFLW Cats in 2018.


18. Melissa Hickey

Profile: Another famous name but a star in her own right, Mel Hickey has made a big impression at the Cats since making the move from Melbourne ahead of the 2019 AFLW Season. Hickey has 19 games of AFLW experience under her belt and will help develop the young players in the 2019 squad.

Profile: A young forward who kicked 14 goals in 10 games at TAC Cup level in 2018. Boasts a great set of hands and is a very selfless forward with a knack for finding open players.


20. Rebecca Pearce

Profile: An experienced and consistent VFLW player who will be looking to continue her form in 2019. She is an excellent mark and intercept defender. Pearce has played overseas in the USAFL with the New York Magpies.


21. Rebecca Webster

Profile: A stellar footballer at TAC Cup level with Murray Bushrangers, Webster was taken by the Cats with pick seven in the 2018 AFLW Draft. A strong overhead mark and exceptional user of the ball, Webster played four games with the Cats’ AFLW side in 2019.


22. Hannah Mangan

Profile: A former star in ultimate frisbee, Mangan has slotted in well to the Cats’ squad playing 28 games at VFLW level since joining in 2017. Has picked up the game very quickly to become one of the most consistent players at the club.

Profile: Another Cat who has made the transition from the AFL Barwon competition. Rowe played her 2018 season with St. Mary’s and was named the Players’ Player of the Year.


24. Maddy McMahon

Profile: After successful experiences playing netball and basketball, McMahon has proven to be just as talented on the football field. Earned a podium finish in both the 2019 AFLW and 2018 VFLW best and fairest counts.


26. Maddie Boyd

Profile: A Geelong local who was drafted by the Demons in 2016 and played AFLW with GWS in 2018. Boyd made the move back to the cattery with both the AFLW and VFLW Cats. A proven goalkicker wand one of the best contested marks in the competition.



27. Sophie Van De Heuvel

Profile: The second pick in the AFLW draft, Van De Heuvel enjoyed a great first season in the blue and white hoops. After seven games with the AFLW side, the midfielder will look to develop her game at VFLW level this season. Is a star of the future for the Cats.

Profile: A dual member of the TAC Cup Team of the Year who earned best on ground honours in the 2018 TAC Cup Grand Final, Taylor is a speedy player who uses the ball well. Claimed a top 10 finish in the Cats’ AFLW B&F.

Profile: Woodroffe balances being the GWV Rebels Female Talent Coordinator and AFL Goldfields Female Talent Football Manager with her football. Despite those commitments, Woodroffe has played 33 games over the past few seasons with the Cats.


30. Richelle Cranston

Profile: The reigning VFLW Best & Fairest award winner will hope to continue the stellar form she showed in 2018. No one works harder on their game than Rocky and she has become a star both on and off the field within the space of a few years.

Profile: Solid key defender making the move from the Geelong Falcons to the VFLW Cats. Has shown maturity down back for the Falcons and will hope to break into the Geelong side in 2019.

Profile: A tall developing ruck who can push forward, Inei suited up for the Cats for one game in 2018. Made the move from soccer to football to play in the ruck similar to AFL Cat Zac Smith.

Profile: A former high-profile basketballer who has transitioned into football to become a high profile AFLW and VFLW player. Is rock solid down back and rarely concedes goals to her opponents.

Profile: A former netballer who has made the move to football. Strong player when the ball is at ground level who has good skills by hand.

Profile: A Vic Country representative at U/18 level, Maguire played five games with the Cats in 2018. Will be looking to improve on that number and have a consistent run at it this season.

Profile: The inaugural Geelong VFLW captain has been a pillar in the Cats’ defensive unit at both VFLW and AFLW level. Has numerous leadership qualities off the field and plays a brand of football that any coach would love.


45. Madeline Keryk

Profile: One of the Cats’ AFLW stars in 2019, Keryk claimed a fifth-place finish in the club’s best and fairest. She is well known for her leadership qualities as a former vice-captain of Carlton. Keryk has no trouble finding the ball and is hard around the contest. Was named a member of the 2019 VFLW Leadership Group.



47. Daisy Smith

Profile: Another new Cat from the Geelong Falcons footy factory. Daisy Smith was a regular feature in the Falcons’ best players and will only improve in the VFLW system.



48. Michelle Fedele

Profile: A strong marking forward who is capable of a highlight play every time she goes near the ball. Has been a key member of the Cats’ VFLW list for a couple of years now.

Profile: A junior gymnast, Ramsay has 15 VFLW games under her belt with the Cats. The defender is capable of doing a job every week and will hope to play consistent football in 2019.
