Fresh off being drafted to the Cats’ AFLW list, VFLW acting captain Claudia Gunjaca gives her take heading into a huge Preliminary Final against Essendon at Windy Hill.

Highlight of the Semi Final

It was probably our fight in the second half, we came out with a lot of heart and a lot of fight and I think we just really brought the pressure. And basically getting the win was probably the highlight for me!

What are you looking forward to about the Preliminary Final:

Playing to get a spot in the Grand Final – nothing is better than that. That’s pretty exciting.

How the Cats can beat Essendon:

Just keep doing what we’re doing. We showed good heart and fight in the Semi Final, so we just keep progressing with what we’re doing, and keep being clean our clean possession, and keep our high-pressure game up and I think we can win.

The Cats player to watch:

Probably someone that goes under the radar a little bit is Tamara Smith. She won the leading tackles out of the whole comp this year. So she is awesome to watch. We’re such a high-pressure team, and she’s part of the reason why. She just lays so many good tackles, as well as the other things she does as well, which is incredible.

A message to the team:

Just keep doing what we’re doing: keep bringing our pressure every week. We’ve just got to get the win and make it to the Granny.
