Geelong’s Olivia Barber has avoided an ACL injury to her right knee.

Barber sustained the injury in the VFLW last weekend and scans revealed a PCL injury.

Barber met with a specialist on Tuesday and it was determined surgery is not required.

Barber will begin a rehabilitation program with the aim to commence AFLW pre-season training with her teammates in September.

The 18-year-old played seven AFLW games in her debut season for Geelong.
