Veterans and guests from the Geelong RSL sub-branch enjoyed a day at the footy, with tickets to the AFL Round 6 clash between Geelong and West Coast Eagles provided by Ford Australia.

Among the group was Kris O’Brien, a Timor-Leste and Afghanistan veteran, who is now a Community and Peer Advisor at Open Arms Veterans and Families Counselling.

“Thank you to Ford for the invitation for veterans in the Geelong community and the opportunity to experience and commemorate with the AFL and Geelong Cats for the Anzac Appeal (Round),” he said.

A week earlier, a group of teachers from the Geelong region enjoyed free tickets to the Round 5 clash between Geelong and North Melbourne, thanks to Ford.

The teachers won tickets to the match after signing their schools up for the GMHBA Healthy Heroes program and entering the competition.

Members of the TAC Unity Cup Gala Day Geelong senior team were also among the Ford invitees, reuniting after their trophy-winning efforts last month.

Ford Australia provides tickets for groups in the community to enjoy match day at GMHBA Stadium, as a reward for all their great efforts.

In Round 2, headspace Geelong was invited to watch the thriller between the Cats and the Brisbane Lions.
