Participants at a previous Unity Cup, the end goal of the Unity Cup Hub clinics

The Geelong Unity Cup Hub is about to get underway for 2021.

As part of the lead-up to the Unity Cup, the hub will be a series of football clinics run over six weeks with the aim of introducing people from multicultural backgrounds to the great sport of Australian football.

The clinics are open to anyone aged 12 or over, and will be run every Wednesday between February 10 and March 17, between 4.30pm and 5.45pm at Leisuretime Sports Precinct in Norlane (262-282 Anakie Rd).

The Geelong Cats are partnering with Diversitat and AFL Victoria to run the clinics, which are also supported by headspace, VicHealth and the TAC.

Expressions of interest are open for the clinic, with anyone welcome to come along and play.

Teams will be formed at the conclusion of the hub clinics for anyone wishing to take part in the Unity Cup.

To register for the clinics, please click here. Registrations close Monday, February 8.

The Unity Cup is one of a number of initiatives under the Diversity and Inclusion banner in the Cats in the Community program.

The club also hosts a Welcome to our Game match to introduce multicultural communities to a match day at GMHBA Stadium, and will be holding a Welcome to Geelong football clinic as well.
