Geelong defender Jake Kolodjashnij has praised the impact Luke Dahlhaus is having on the playing group ahead of their clash against his former side on Saturday night.

Both on and off the field the former Dog has become a favourite among players and supporters.

“He is a really funny guy, he is full of energy and gives plenty of spark to the group,” Kolodjashnij said.

“Obviously he shows that when he is out there playing. He is pretty manic and fitting in beautifully with those forwards.”

“Their forward pressure is elite, and it is really helping us defend and setup behind the ball, and it has been great for the team in general.”

The 26-year-old has thrived in his forward role this season after returning home to play for the team he supported growing up.

He is currently ranked third at the club for both disposals and tackles inside forward 50 and has provided the perfect foil for the likes of Tom Hawkins, Gary Ablett, Gryan Miers and Gary Rohan in attack.

This Saturday night at Marvel Stadium he will line up against his former side for the second time in seven weeks and Kolodjashnij admits he is feeling more comfortable this time around.

“I think he will be a lot more comfortable and relaxed going into this game,” he said.

“He has played some really good footy, so looking forward to seeing what he can do for us on Saturday night.”

Gates open at 5.30pm with the first bounce will be at 7.25pm.
