Geelong has named a strong squad for their round 13 clash against the Northern Blues at Ikon Park on Saturday afternoon.

A victory for either side could set their season up with the Cats and Blues currently sitting eighth and ninth respectively on the VFL ladder.

Geelong will be boosted by the inclusion of Quinton Narkle who has overcome a hamstring injury. While Lachie Henderson has been cleared to play despite spending large parts of last week’s big win against Frankston on the bench with an AC shoulder injury.

Narkle is set to start on-ball and will be hoping to string together some solid performances in the coming weeks to push his name forward for AFL selection.

Ruckman Zac Smith and versatile midfielder James Parsons are welcome additions after they were carry-over emergencies for the AFL side last week.

Parsons in particular is an important inclusion and like-for-like replacement for Lachie Fogarty after he received a call up for Geelong’s round 15 clash against Adelaide on Friday night.

Oscar Brownless, Jacob Kennerley, Blake Schlensog, Jake Tarca and Ned Harris are the other inclusions.

Saturday’s match at Ikon Park is scheduled to commence at 2pm.
