We take a look at which Cats are putting their hands up to play the Suns on Saturday night.

Rhys Stanley

Stanley was a late withdrawal before the Bulldogs game with an adductor injury but is expected to be fit for the clash with the Suns. Is the Cats’ number one ruckman when available but with his injury history, won’t be risked unless fully fit.

Esava Ratugolea

The key forward was managed ahead of the clash with the Bulldogs. The 20-year-old is among a host of tall Cats fighting for a limited number of spots.

Tom Atkins

A late change saw Atkins miss Saturday’s match, with a hip injury ruling him out. Atkins has been an important player for the Cats and his forward pressure and tackling work will be welcomed back into the side if he is declared fit.

Scott Selwood (21 disposals, 11 tackles, six clearances in the VFL)

Played his first full game in the VFL after an injury riddled start to the year. Selwood was one of the Cats’ better players in the VFL win and was back to his best from a tackling perspective.

Wylie Buzza (Five goals, six marks, seven score involvements)

Was in the conversation for an AFL game earlier in the year before a pectoral injury kept him out of action for a month. Buzza played his first full game back on Sunday and finished with five goals.

James Parsons (18 disposals, 15 by foot, six inside 50s, six score involvements)

Parsons is playing a consistent brand of football in the VFL and is often among the best players. Was at his explosive best on Sunday, breaking the lines and setting up numerous attacking plays in tightly contested game.

Zac Smith (48 hitouts, 21 disposals, six clearances)

An all-round performance from the Cats’ ruckman. Smith led the VFL side in hitouts, disposals, contested possessions and clearances in a best afield performance.
