The VFLW Cats have been bolstered by several big inclusions for their first ever final against NT Thunder at Stannards Stadium on Sunday.

They don’t come any bigger than Erin Hoare, the tallest player in the competition, who returns to the side after missing the final three rounds of the season.

She is joined by Hayley Trevean and Madeleine McMahon, both returning from injury, along with Nina Morrison and Olivia Purcell, who were named in last week’s AFLW U18 All Australian team.

These five players replace Tarryn Love, Isy Currenti, Maddison Janssen, Millie Klingbeil and Laura Taylor from the side that lost to Hawthorn in the final round of the home-and-away season.

This Sunday is a significant occasion for the Geelong Cats women’s football program. The team is well rested after the pre-finals bye and embracing the challenge of playing finals football.

The match kicks off at 11.45am and will be live streamed via the VFL website. The match is part of double-header, with the VFL semi final between Geelong and Box Hill to follow from 2.10pm.
