Ticket Updates and FAQs

I am a Geelong Cats Member with a Reserved Seat Membership. Am I entitled to sit in this Reserved Seat for finals matches?

No, finals matches are AFL events and therefore Members do not have access to their Reserved Seat for these matches. You will be required to purchase a ticket via the relevant ticket agent if you wish to attend the game.

I am a Geelong Cats Member. Do I still need to purchase a ticket for the finals?

Yes, you will need to purchase tickets should you wish to attend a finals match.

As a Member of a club participating in the finals, you will receive priority access to purchase tickets before the general public for games in which your club competes.

You will also receive access to purchase additional tickets for friends (Please note: the quantity of additional tickets is subject to the teams and venues please refer to your member emails or check www.afl.com.au/tickets/finals for updates).

I am a Geelong Cats Member. When can I buy tickets?

Club members have access to a priority purchase period for all matches in which their club is competing. Tickets will be made available to club members prior to going on-sale to the general public. The date & time for each on-sale will vary depending on the match and will be confirmed and communicated on the Sunday prior to each final (Sunday week prior to match for Week 1.)

Match details for each week will be announced at the completion of the previous week's games and all up-to-date finals ticketing information and links to buy tickets for all matches will be available at afl.com.au/finals.

At the time of purchase, you will need your 2019 membership card or 12-digit barcode number for all members you are wishing to purchase tickets for. If your team secures a place in a Preliminary Final, eligible members will be required to register their intent to purchase a Toyota AFL Grand Final ticket should their team qualify*.

Eligible members can register online at premier.ticketek.com.au/  or by calling 1300 796 939 on the following dates (times may vary):

Winner Qualifying Final 1 | Wednesday, September 11

Winner Qualifying Final 2 | Thursday, September 12

Winner Semi-Final 1 | Wednesday, September 18

Winner Semi-Final 2 | Thursday, September 19

Detailed information regarding Grand Final Ballot registrations will be communicated by each club to their eligible members.

* Registering for a Grand Final ticket does not guarantee purchase. Please refer to the terms and conditions in the Grand Final registration communication from your club.

I am not a Geelong Cats Member. When can I purchase tickets?

Remaining tickets no sold during the member priority period will be made available to the general public to purchase.

Transaction limits apply, and tickets are subject to availability.

How many tickets can I purchase?

A transaction limit per venue applies when purchasing tickets. In addition members may have access to purchase additional tickets during the first three weeks of the finals (please note the quantity of additional tickets is subject to the competing teams and venue - please refer to your member emails or check www.afl.com.au/tickets/finals for updates).

For all other matches the quantity of tickets will be subject to the competing teams and venue.

Please check www.afl.com.au/tickets/finals or members can refer to communication from your club for updates prior to tickets going on sale.

I am a Geelong Cats member. Can I sit with a member of the other competing club?

For Finals at the MCG, you can. Competing Club members can choose which team area they sit in. All membership barcodes will be required when purchasing tickets. If purchasing at an outlet or via phone, you will be asked which team allocation you would like to sit in.

If you purchase via the internet, you will need to select a team area before moving on to select your seat preference. For Finals at GIANTS Stadium, Optus Stadium and the Gabba, competing Club members will automatically be allocated a seat within their set club allocation.

Where can I buy tickets?

Ticketek - MCG

Online: ticketek.com.au
Phone: 132 849
In person: find an agency near you

Ticketmaster - GIANTS Stadium, Optus Stadium and The Gabba

Online: ticketmaster.com.au
Phone: 136 100
In person: find an outlet near you

Please check the relevant websites for outlet locations and check with their local outlet to confirm operating times.

Note: Members wishing to purchase a family ticket for any finals match sold via Ticketmaster during the member priority period are required to do so in person or via the phone (online bookings cannot be facilitated).

Where will our seating be for weeks 1, 2 & 3 of the finals?

The AFL distributes an equitable number of tickets within each reserved seat category, along with restricted/standing room tickets (if applicable) to members of both competing clubs for each final. You will be able to nominate which club you wish to be seated with for matches at the MCG.

How are tickets sold?

Tickets will be sold on a first in, next best available basis and will be subject to availability. You will be able to purchase based on your preferred price category for the first three weeks of the finals.

Due to the demand for tickets however, all ticket agents are advised to sell 'next best available' to make the allocation process fast and convenient for purchasers. Please note that payment for all finals tickets is strictly cash, EFTPOS or credit card.

During the club members priority period you must have all your 2019 membership barcodes and you can only purchase a finals ticket equivalent to the type of membership you hold (ie an adult member can only purchase an adult finals ticket).

I tried to buy a ticket but it says ‘Allocation Exhausted’. Does that mean the game is sold out?

On occasion, some games may have seats released closer to the day of the game. These seats include internal and dining allocations that are not used.

Continue to check back on the ticket agent’s site for availability. If there will be no further tickets released for sale, the game will be declared as sell out, and corresponding messaging will read Sold Out.

Can I purchase tickets through a third party, such as eBay, Gumtree, Ticketmaster Resale or other re-sale markets?

For information about ticket resale, visit afl.com.au/tickets/finals/ticket-resale

I am an AFL member with a club support package. Can I purchase tickets from the club allocation for weeks 1, 2 & 3?

AFL full and silver members (excluding absentee members) whose club of support is one of the competing clubs may access the competing club members’ ticket allocation in the public section of the ground in weeks 1-3.

AFL members who choose to purchase tickets from the competing club member allocation, will pay the full public ticket price at the MCG. For AFL Reserve entitlements, please check membership.afl.com.au
