Outlook
The Cats’ faith in West and the back-up ruckman’s persistence paid off when he played his part in securing Geelong’s third premiership in the past five years. Limited opportunities in the previous five seasons saw him manage just 11 games, but he came of age at the right time of the year. Was recalled to the side in round 17 against the Brisbane Lions and gave great support to Brad Ottens. Took some fine contested marks in the finals and can stake his claim as the club’s No. 1 ruckman.
