Outlook
Was the unlucky player in Geelong’s premiership campaign with a groin injury ruling him out of the preliminary final and he was unable to force his way back for the Grand Final. After playing in the 2008 Grand Final less than 100 per cent fit, Stokes fought hard to return and, although disappointed to be overlooked, took it in his stride. Kicked 29 goals in 19 games, including four against the Western Bulldogs in round nine, and still has plenty to offer as a creative small forward.
