Outlook

Gifted defender who uses his poise and drive in defence to set up numerous attacking moves. After being dropped during the 2010 finals series, Mackie bounced back in superb fashion and was a key reason the Cats won the 2011 flag. Continued his great form in 2012, finishing with the second-most defensive rebounds (64) of any Geelong player. Completed a fine year when he was eighth in the best and fairest.
