Outlook

Has endured a heartbreaking run of serious knee injuries. Now on the comeback trail after his fourth knee reconstruction. A player with dazzling skills, plenty of pace and great goal-sense, the Cats remain confident Menzel will be a star of the future, despite his many setbacks. Has not played an AFL game since the first week of the 2011 finals.

Returned to VFL after overcoming ruptured ACL

Played two VFL games and kicked two goals

Re-injured knee and required further ACL reconstruction

Dale Amos' player review for 2014

Everybody at the footy club, their hearts sank when he did his knee again. But everything has been really positive with his surgery and everything's going really well with his rehab at the moment. We'll be patient and conservative with him and give him every opportunity to be able to come back and play. It's very difficult for guys to cope with one knee reco and he's just had his fourth, so it will have a really positive influence on the group if we can get him back playing again.
