AFL community camp
The AFL in partnership with the 16 clubs has staged community camps since 2003. These annual training camps are held in various regions throughout Australia in locations as diverse as Hobart in the south, Darwin in the north and Wollongong in the east to Pilbara in the west.
Each club conducts a four-day training camp and also participates in a range of activities to promote and develop the game and strengthen each community’s connection with the game.
The Geelong Football Club has been to the Gold Coast, Newcastle, Horsham, Swan Hill and Warrnambool. The location of the 2009 AFL community camp will be confirmed soon.
Tin shakes at home matches
The Geelong Cats are proud to have our six charity partners for the 2012 season on board, each have been strategically selected and will benefit a cross section of need in the community both locally and nationally, these include:
- Cottage by the Sea
- Barwon Health Foundation
- Give Where You Live
- Gateways Support Services
- Starlight Children’s Foundation
- headspace Barwon
Included in the clubs partnership with the above charities is the opportunity to ‘tin shake’ at a Geelong Cats home game. Each ‘tin shake’ opportunity for 2012 has been allocated to our charity partners and official club programs to assist with their fundraising efforts and create awareness for their cause.
We look forward to your continued support in 2012.
