On Friday night Essendon will be without one of their classiest players Jason Winderlich after receiving a week suspension from the match review panel.

The forward/midfielder accepted the one-game ban following the striking of Adelaide defender Luke Brown in the fourth quarter last Saturday night.

The panel believed the act from Winderlich was intentional conduct (three points), low impact (one point) and body contact (one point).
With a bad record of 70.30 demerit points, Winderlich’s penalty was increased to 195.31 points and a week suspension.

An early plea meant his points were cut to 146.48 and one match ban.

This year Winderlich has only played seven games due to injury. However, the 119-game-player has still managed to make an impact with a total of 12 goals and 26 marks this season. The veteran will be greatly missed this week against the Cats.
