Tom Hawkins is adamant that his form will improve in the second half of the season after a topsy-turvy first 14 rounds.

Hawkins struggled early in Saturday night's loss to St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.

Although he bounced back and finished with three goals, the big man was downbeat after the shock defeat.

"Individually, I played pretty ordinary," Hawkins told Cats Media.

"Couldn't get involved in the first half and was a bit more involved in the second.

"But I'm just disappointed. I didn't have an influence, really."

Hawkins and his teammates were at the club to review the game and complete their recovery on Monday.

Thanks to having the bye this weekend, they will enjoy a period of leave from Tuesday, before returning to tackle the last eight home and away games.

Hawkins has pledged to arrive back at the club in a positive mindset and ready to improve.

"That'll be the case," he said.
