Young Cat Jordan Murdoch made his mark by kicking three final quarter goals against Hawthorn in Round 15.

After playing eight AFL games for the season, his confidence has grown immensely.

“As I get used to more AFL footy and playing with the legends of the game each week my confidence is steadily growing and I’m finding my feet, it’s becoming a lot better,” Murdoch told Fiveaa radio last night.

Heading into this weekend, Murdoch returns to his home state of South Australia and is looking forward to returning to AAMI Stadium.

“I’ve got fond memories of playing at AAMI Stadium, the last time I played there was for Glenelg in a Premiership.”

Although history show’s Geelong’s form at AAMI Stadium isn’t outstanding, the Cats have won 10 of 30 games played there, Murdoch doesn’t buy into the statistics.

“It’s a good ground and we played really well there against Port this year as well so we will take that with us.

“Apart from that it’s business as usual, whatever the ground we want to play our best footy.”

After the Crows burst out of the blocks in Round 7 last year to go on and win by 50 points, the start of this game is crucial.

“I didn’t play last year but I remember the Crows getting a pretty good start.

“We battled hard in the second half and came out even so it was just the first half of the game we gave them last year that we couldn’t make back.

“It’s been something we’re working on this year, we’ve had a couple of games where we have started really well and a couple where we haven’t.

“We need to keep on developing that consistency and hopefully we can get a good start this week.”
