They are the most anxiously anticipated thing to hit Geelong since the Cats took the 2011 premiership cup down the highway from the MCG.

And with construction going gangbusters, it won't be long until four brand new light towers sit around Simonds Stadium like beacons of the city.

The four towers are, as you can see from the photos below, under construction currently in Portland ready to be shipped to their new home in Geelong.

Meanwhile, at their new home, engineers are working feverishly on the plantings that will hold the massive light structures.

The Cats will play their first game under lights at Simonds Stadium on June 1 against the Gold Coast Suns.
