Geelong has requested youngsters Lincoln McCarthy and Josh Cowan be added to the team's long-term injury list.

Cowan has recently had a re-occurrence of achillies injury that plagued his 2012 season. McCarthy has been suffering the effects of a navicular injury since the VFL Cats finals campaign.

Geelong General Manager of Football, Neil Balme said the club would work with the players to get them back on the track as soon as possible.

“Josh and Lincoln are both integral parts of our playing list moving forward and they will be getting the full support of the club during their rehab.” Balme said.

Cowan has played three AFL games for the Cats since debuting in 2011 whilst McCarthy made his debut against the GWS Giants in 2012.

Cats ruckman Dawson Simpson is currently also on the long-term injury list.
