It was a combination of bad timing and poor communication that we allowed several projects to close lanes on the West Gate Freeway and the M80 on a night when traffic from Geelong to Melbourne was higher than normal.
In the future, we will postpone major roadworks if football games or other scheduled events are expected to draw bumper crowds.
