Steve Johnson hasn’t ruled out taking on the Blues this Friday night after receiving positive news on his foot.

As revealed on yesterday’s nib medical room, Johnson suffered foot soreness after the weekend’s win over Fremantle.

Scans have revealed no serious damage to the mercurial midfielders right foot.

Speaking to Fox Sports News, Johnson was adamant he could still take on Carlton on Friday night.

“They’ve come up that I don’t have any fractures, so it’s just about how I manage going forward,” Johnson said.

“There’s a little bit of pain there, but it hasn’t ruled me out for any amount of time at all.”

The Cats are likely to take a conservative approach with Johnson as the club nears its 10th finals campaign in 11 seasons.

“I have to go back and consult with the doctors and see how it pulls up over the next few days.

“I certainly haven’t been ruled out at all, yet.”

Interestingly, Johnson has played less games against Carlton than any other side except for the AFL’s two new franchises.
