Spectators are being advised to arrive early to Friday night’s Elimination Final between Geelong and Melbourne, with a large crowd expected at the MCG.

The clash is now anticipated to draw a crowd of more than 90,000 people, while two major events in the area – an NRL final at AAMI Park and a concert at Margaret Court Arena – will also add to the precinct traffic.

With MCG gates opening at 5.30pm, and MCC members having access from 5pm, the MCC is urging fans to allow plenty of time in getting to the ground.

Entry processes won’t be compromised, with patrons strongly encouraged to leave unnecessary bags at home and be patient and cooperative with security staff.

V/Line update
V/Line is advising footy fans that Geelong line special trains will terminate and originate from Southern Cross instead of Richmond for the AFL elimination final between Geelong and Melbourne at the MCG on Friday 7 September. Fans will be able to catch a metropolitan service from Southern Cross to Richmond Station.
