Five things we loved about the Cats' last game of the season …

1. THE SIMONDS STADIUM CROWD
The raucous cheers afforded to Steve Johnson, James Kelly and Mathew Stokes on Saturday afternoon were awesome. The crowd was right behind the departing champions during the game, and the reception given to them after the siren was spine-tingling. The cheers directed towards Adelaide's Patrick Dangerfield, particularly when he took a mark just before the final siren, were pretty good too!

2. STEVIE J'S LEFT-FOOT TORP
The three-time premiership player put on a brilliant show in his last game at the Cattery. The goal he snapped off his left boot in the first quarter was superb, as was his fist-pumping, finger-pointing celebration. The only downside was his wayward goalkicking during the rest of the afternoon, which resulted in him booting 2.6. But the behind he registered with a left-foot torpedo from 50m out (only Stevie would think to do such a thing), with 1.50 remaining in the last quarter, was as good as goal when it came to its entertainment value.

3. STOKES AND KELLY RACKING UP DISPOSALS
While Stevie J was putting on a show up forward, Stokes and Kelly ran amok in the midfield, tallying 33 and 30 disposals respectively. Stokes brought the house down when he kicked a goal in the last quarter and then kissed his jumper, and he triggered a similar reaction when he sent a beautiful pass to Johnson a few minutes later. Stokes later did his best to get Kelly a goal, but the No. 9's shot missed by a metre or so. Still, it was brilliant to see the departing players all leave with their heads held high.

4. ANDREW MACKIE'S FINISH TO THE SEASON
Mackie is one of the experienced players who will remain at the club in 2016, and he showed why with a sensational performance against the Crows. He racked up 34 disposals, 11 marks, a goal and 144 AFL Fantasy Points. His body is still in great shape and he will be a very important player next season.

5. JOEL SELWOOD AND CAMERON GUTHRIE'S BIG EFFORT
Both Selwood and Guthrie have had brilliant patches through the season and some quiet ones as well. But they were at their best against Adelaide, driving their team forward over and over again. Selwood finished with 34 disposals, eight tackles and a goal, while Guthrie had 33 touches, laid nine tackles and booted a goal. Selwood's roller-coaster season means he is unlikely to finish in the top three in the best and fairest, but Guthrie looks a very good chance to be prominent on 'Carji' night in early October. And we can't forget Josh Cowan, who was very impressive in just his second AFL game since 2011.
