Andrew Mackie
The veteran defender was rested from the game against Essendon in Shepparton but is expected to be recalled for the clash with Fremantle at Domain Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Daniel Menzel
The silky-skilled forward has taken on a big workload during the pre-season, so he was spared the trip to north-east Victoria. He is very much in contention to return this week.

Jed Bews
The young defender missed the win over the Bombers due to shoulder soreness but he is also well and truly in the mix for the trip west to play the Dockers.

Michael Luxford
After a great pre-season, Luxford has been named in the initial 29-man squad for each of the Cats' two NAB Challenge games to date but has failed to make the final 26-man squad. He has been doing plenty right on the track and is pushing hard to win himself a crack at Freo.

Zac Bates
The rookie-listed speedster was also in the initial squad to play Essendon but didn't make the final squad. If the Cats elect to take a youngish squad to Perth, then Bates will be very much in the mix.

Jock Cornell
Like Luxford and Bates, the Cats' first pick in last year's rookie draft was selected in the initial squad to play Essendon but was omitted when the squad was trimmed. He will be pushing hard to notch up a NAB Challenge appearance before heading back to the VFL to work on his craft.
