Recording such a victory was a great way to pay tribute to two of Geelong's greatest players, Jimmy Bartel and Corey Enright.

Jimmy's goal in the dying seconds was something to behold. To hear the crowd chanting his name afterwards was spine-tingling.

Rhys' previous best haul was three, and he had done that just once. But he produced a performance that was full of merit against the Dogs.

So the Cats are in the top four (albeit just 0.1 percentage points ahead of fifth-placed Adelaide) with matches against Essendon (Etihad Stadium), Richmond (MCG), the Brisbane Lions (Gabba) and Melbourne (Simonds Stadium) to come.

And the team is set to get even stronger in the coming weeks, with Lachie Henderson, Josh Caddy and Scott Selwood waiting in the wings.

Henderson has now missed two matches since being concussed in the win over Fremantle in round 17, while Caddy and Selwood were impressive contributors in the VFL Cats' loss to Collingwood on Saturday.
